ANT878 French Marble Mantel Clock (circa1880)

The marble case is nearly perfect with only a couple very minor small chips-no major cracks or repairs.  It is reinforced with concrete, as many French clock cases are.  It strikes the hour and half hour on a very light gong which is great for light sleepers!  It also has an open escapement, so you can observe the seconds passing by with each tick.  The clock is in marvelous shape all around and the mechanism has been cleaned and oiled.
