Mrs. Barton's Cooker # TJDLLECA6
Limited Edition 350

Mrs. Bloomsbury Barton returned tipsy, elated, but a little troubled by her visit to her old friend Margot Flounder. What troubled Mrs. B-B was that the evening drinkies had been a pretence for Margot to show off her spectacular new kitchen. Oneupmanship had always been a large part of events in her social circles, so Mrs. B-B saw this as a challenge. A few days later laborers arrived, and within an hour, the cupboards and tables had been reduced to matchwood. Less easy to dispose of was the fine old stove. Not a functioning trendy object, it definitely had to go. It was decided it would be stored, along with the other cast-offs. When finally deposited, the exhausted laborers noticed none of the furry inhabitants, and apart from a slightly musty catty smell they would have sworn the place was deserted. It was not long before the regulars emerged to view the new acquisition. As cats chased dogs around and around the stove, sparks flew in all respects. Within this limited edition box figurine are seahorses and the inscription Cadgwith, an idyllic and remote Cornish fishing village where sculptor David Lawrence and his family spend many a hot summer day, snorkeling, eating crabs, walking along the cliffs and drinking a strong Cornish beer.
